On this New Moon in Capricorn, I reflect on its influence on my inner world and on the larger world of which we are all a part. Capricorn, in its essence, embodies stability, groundedness, and solidity. This is the moment the cosmos invites us to step into the year more rooted and centered than ever before — to clearly define our priorities and reconnect with the values that truly propel us forward.
While walking along the magnificent Kvarner coast, with the music of the talented Liesbet Leroy filling the air — those haunting, desert-like sounds in such beautiful contrast to the sea — a profound realization washed over me:
In the desert we find ourselves.
Yet beside the water… we are already found.
The dunes can represent our elevated states of consciousness, while the waves embody our emotions, feelings, ideas, and thoughts. The goal is to see ourselves as the observer of everything that arises within us. Once we truly recognize the role of the observer, we become free. Only then do we understand the essence of all the trials we go through on the journey across the desert — and ultimately the true meaning of the encounter with water. With this in mind I have only skimmed the surface of everything that is yet to come.
